Enterprise TMS software assumes a dispatcher sitting at a desk with two monitors. A four-truck carrier is a person in a pickup with a phone, and the load got booked on a call that happened at 6:40 in the morning.
Cartwheel is built for that person. Rate confirmations and BOLs get read on arrival instead of retyped. A load has a state, and the state changes when something real happens, not when somebody remembers to update it. Settlement math is the same math every week and it is not done in a spreadsheet.
The unglamorous part
Freight documents are a hostile input. Same carrier, same broker, three different rate confirmation layouts in a month, one of them a photo of a fax. Extraction that works on a clean PDF and quietly guesses on a bad scan is worse than no extraction, so ours reports confidence per field and refuses rather than inventing.
